these were for school. finished the painting i posted last week, as well as painted the other 2 images for this project. It is a three image sequential illustration on Nigerian email scams.
hmm lookin at em again they all need more finish. picture 1. Youre almost done, but you need that final POP in there. Kick in some key highlights, like on the fold over the knees of the kings robe and a few key edges need highlights to really make it stand out. Also, clean up the contours of all your objects, so they are sharp where they need to be (in light) and soft where they dont (in shadow). Last of all, the 2 people in the background create a tangent with their meeting sleeves. Didnt notice that before, but i noticed that i kept looking at that gap between em for some reason. Picture 2. Like 1. it needs cleaner edges, you also need stronger contact shadows and edge highlights on teh chests. The guy in the foreground needs some deeper darks so his face doesnt flaten out as much. Picture 3. This one is pretty simple so there are no huuge problems, its just unfinished and unrefined. You need to tighten up the rendering and the edges, and make that knife look like a knife, make it metal, make it glisten, make it look reaaaally sharp. Its all too sketchy still.
