When im stuck i do a self portrait to experiment. I find its easier to play with tools, colours or composition when I'm dealing with more familiar subject matter.

also painted these two buggers, the environment is repainted school project, tryin to fix it up for portfolio. Its got some big compositional issues but i still kinda like it.
Lovely use of color and texture. Just wondering but what type of brush did you use for the self portrait?
ReplyDeleteThe actual brush used was just the simple round, both soft and hard. The textures were created by painting on top of a inverted photo texture, a noise filter on the vest, and by duplicating the blue colouring of the face, lowering the opacity slightly and offsetting it to make a blur.
